Myeongdong Cafe Top 5 recommended by Koreans

Myeongdong Cafe Top 5 recommended by Koreans

Hi! I’m Korean G.O.A.T ! Mm-hmm~

Today’s blog topic is to introduce the best 5 cafes in Myeongdong, Seoul recommended by Koreans!

I have lived in Korea for more than 30 years, and I am an original Korean!

Watching foreigners rely on Google for sightseeing when traveling abroad, I wanted to introduce the places that Korean locals introduce to foreigners who come to Korea!

For your information, I worked as a space planner and I’m the one who planned a large cafe in Yeongjongdo, where Incheon Airport is located!

I’m not good at English, so I’m going to use a translator to deliver information in English! Shall we get started?

Best 5 Cafe in Myeongdong

1. MOLTO Italian Espresso Cafe
  • Address : 3rd floor, 73, Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Representative menu : Espresso

MOLTO Italian Espresso Cafe is located in front of Myeongdong Cathedral. To be honest, although it’s a crowded cafe with a lot of people, I think it’s a great advantage that you can take pictures of Myeongdong Cathedral with a view.

Just a year or two ago, espresso was popular in Korea, so I drank several cups, piled up cups, and uploaded pictures on Instagram, I don’t do that these days!^^;;

But it’s a cafe I go to sometimes when I visit Myeongdong, and the espresso taste is not bad either! There are also pizza, salad, and burghstar menus, so it’s good to go eat, and if you’re nearby, I recommend you to visit at least once!

2. Matcha Myeongdong Branch

  • Address : 17, Myeongdong 9-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Representative menu: millstone coffee, millstone milk tea

Mattcha is a cafe that became famous for making coffee with a millstone! The entire four-story building is a cafe, so there are many seats and it’s comfortable.

You can think of millstones as a traditional Korean mixer, but they function as a mixer using friction between the two stones.

When you grind coffee, you usually use a grinder, right? Think of it as a traditional Korean version of Grinder.

Especially, millstone milk tea has a special taste because it is ground and made by itself.

The location is also in front of Exit 5 of Ipgu Station in Euljiro, so getting off at Ipgu Station in Euljiro and looking around Myeongdong Shopping Street after visiting this cafe is also a good idea!

3. Creamy chic

  • Address : 13, Myeongdong 7-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Representative menu: Einspanner

This place is registered in the Korea interior design award 2022! Rather than saying that the interior is very special, it is really neat, and above all, the Einspanner and dessert are delicious!

It’s been 2 years since it opened, but I think it’s somewhat guaranteed since it’s located in Myeongdong!

The stores that have been located in Myeongdong for a long time in Korea are all famous stores, but it’s not easy to survive in the gap!

Personally, I would recommend a combination of Einspanner and madeleine!

4. GABEDO Myeongdong

  • Address : 10, Toegye-ro 18-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Representative menu: Matcha latte, Matcha tiramisu

GABEDO is a Korean franchise cafe famous for Matcha. The wood interior expresses the Korean feeling well, and above all, the Matcha menus are famous!

Especially Matcha Latte and Matcha Tiramisu are must-try menus if you visit!

And it is a cafe that is relatively located on the other side of Myeongdong Shopping Street, so there are not many people, and the space is large, so it is a suitable cafe for taking a rest for a while!

Personally, I recommend visiting Myeongdong after shopping rather than before shopping!

5. The spot fabulous

  • Address : 2nd floor, 22, Myeongdong 2-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Representative menu: Signature latte

This is a cafe made by renewing an old building! The exterior of the building preserves the appearance of modern and contemporary buildings in Korea, but the interior is a good place to visit with the feeling of appreciating the space with the wooden interior!

The signature menu is signature latte and signature einspanner, but I personally prefer signature latte with ice cream on top!

Because I can eat coolly when it’s hot and it’s sweet, so I get a lot of energy!

This place is a little far from Myeongdong Shopping Street, so I think it would be good to visit after shopping and take a break!
