What should you eat after trip in Gyeongbokgung palace?

1. “Tosokchon Samgyetang”

– Address : 5, Jahamun-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
– Recommendation: Samgyetang
– Opening hours: 10:00 to 22:00 daily

Tosokchon, which became famous as a regular restaurant for former presidents of Korea!
Koreans eat chicken soup called Samgyetang as a health food, and Tosokchon is very famous for its samgyetang menu!
In addition to ginseng and glutinous rice, various ingredients such as pumpkin seeds, black sesame, walnut, pine nuts, chestnuts, jujube, ginkgo, garlic, and sunflower seeds are included, so the broth is thicker and more fragrant than any other samgyetang restaurant.

The disadvantage is that there are many customers, especially in summer, you have to line up on weekends, weekdays, meal times, or not.
And the Jeon Gi Gui Tong Dak (electrically grilled chicken) on the menu is light without oil and the chicken skin is a delicacy!
It will taste different from the chicken you usually eat!
I recommend taking out on the way back after eating samgyetang!

2. Seochon Gyedan zip

– Address : 17, Myeongdong 9-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
– Representative menu: Chamsora (conch), ggolddo-gi (baby squid), sea ramen
– Business hours: 13:00 to 23:00 (Last order 22:15)

If you visit here, you will be the only foreigners here! It’s a famous restaurant that many Koreans visit!
If the menu is all Korean, so it’s hard for you to order, I don’t care if you ask people around you who are eating it!
Koreans are all kind, so they will rather like that foreigners came to these local Korean restaurants, and they will recommend the menu as much as they want!
Personally, I recommend Chamsora (conch) and ggolddo-gi (baby squad)! Chamsora is served as steamed, and it is very chewy and delicious when dipped in sauce.

Ggolddo-gi comes out raw after trimming, so I recommend you try it!
And lastly, you must eat sea ramen! It’s a delicacy of this restaurant because it has a lot of seafood in it!

3. Hal mae zip

– Address : 1-5, Sajik-ro 12-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
– Representative menu: Jokbal (35,000 WON)
– Opening hours: 11:50 to 21:00 (14:00 to 17:00 break time / Monday closed)

This store is one of the best restaurants listed on Michelin Guide Seoul from 2017 to 2023!
The word Halmae is one of the Korean dialects that refers to grandmother, and it has the meaning of warm and delicious food like the food that grandmother’s food.

The representative menu of this restaurant is jokbal, which is boiled pork legs. It’s comfortable to think of it as the Korean version of Schweinshaksen, a German food!
It’s really chewy and soft, and it’s an unforgettable dish once you eat it!
It may be a little hard to find because it’s located in an alley, but I hope you visit and try it!
